Playing on Xbox I jumped up some rubble into what must be an unfinished room I wasn't suppposed to get to.

No, that's just a Bethesda game.

Programming doesn't work that way. I agree with Arch Duke, that's just Bethesda.

Actually, in a couple of cases it *does* work that way, among them KotOR 2, also by Obsidian. Almost complete rooms, even areas, dummied out or with unopenable doors or other weirdness sometimes possible to bypass. It's the sort of thing that happens when a game is worked on right up to the last minute and "finishing work" to remove such things didn't happen.
However, in a game engine known for clipping issues and otherwise drooling on itself, I'm generally forced to choose that option when possible. Clipping/engine fail (though KotOR 2 had that *and* borked areas).

Ah, yes, Fallout: New Vegas. So many (read: too many) hours of my life have gone into that game.

I've played it repeatedly and all its expansions, but Skyrim can be worse. I have a single character with every skill at 94 or higher and over 200 hours.
*crazy eyes*

I couldn't get as into New Vegas as 3. I think it threw too much in your face at once. When you first started 3, you had a generally linear mainquest to follow and sidequests slowly started to accumulate. In New Vegas, it just sort of throws a whole bunch of stuff to do in your face, and it's a bit overwhelming IMO. I went back and played FO3 a ton of times, I've probably got like 200 hours total in it, with New Vegas I played it for maybe a month (~30-40 hours) and I've never wanted to go back and play again.

I know this sounds strange, but I really like the unpolished feel of Bethesda's games. They make them more interesting. Maybe it's because it stands out from the super-polished warfacecall: modern battleframegears out there.
New Vegas didn't really grab me the way 3 did. Maybe because NV never really gave me and my character any other carrots than survival and curiousity. And I can't say the story really gripped me. Something about a parcel and someone who shot me for whatever reason. *shrug*
3 had Liam Neeson as my dad and that made all the difference.
